ABOUT THE EXHIBIT: 

 A juried exhibit highlighting the work of Fledgling artists. All artists selected for this exhibition will receive a free one year membership to the NHAA. Cash prizes will be awarded! First place will receive $300; second place $200 and third place $100. Don't miss the opportunity to showcase your work in our gallery in downtown Portsmouth!

ABOUT THE JUROR:

 Born and raised in Miami, Gabriel Sosa is an artist, linguist, educator, and curator. His work has been shown at The Contemporary
Jewish Museum, San Francisco; Fábrica de Arte Cubano, Havana, Cuba; Tufts University Art Galleries, Medford; A R E A, Boston;   
and Museo La Tertulia, Cali, Colombia. He has also created public art projects in partnership with Now + There; Montserrat College
of Art; O, Miami Poetry Festival; and Somerville Arts Council. He has participated in residencies at Lugar a dudas, The Art & Law
Program, Urbano Project, Santa Cruz Museum of Art and History, Mass MoCA, and Santa Fe Art Institute. He teaches at the
Massachusetts College of Art and Design and is Deputy Director of Essex Art Center in Lawrence, Massachusetts.

ARTWORK ACCEPTED: 

  • 1-3 pieces of work per artist
  • 2D work – maximum framed dimension 60” in the longest direction INCLUDING FRAME.
  • 3D work - smaller 3D work must not exceed 32" H and must fit within a 24” footprint to display securely on a gallery pedestal. If you have larger 2D or floor standing 3D work, please call the gallery to discuss size and display options.
    All work must be created with the last 2 years and not shown at the Levy Gallery
  • All artists exhibiting online or at any NHAA in person venues must adhere to our PRESENTATION AND FRAMING GUIDELINES  (click here) and NHAA EXHIBIT AGREEMENT (click here) on the on the website in the member portal.FOR ALL ARTISTS UNDER 18 YOU MUST HAVE A PARENT OR GUARDIAN REVIEW THE NHAA EXHIBIT AGREEMENT AND HELP YOU WITH YOUR ONLINE SUBMISSION.

OPENING RECEPTION: Friday, March 3, 5-8 p.m.
DROP-OFF SUBMISSIONS: Sun., Feb, 19, 4 p.m.-6 p.m. and Mon, Feb. 20, 2023 9 a.m.-6 p.m.
PICK-UP SUBMISSIONS: Sun. April 2, 4-6 p.m. and Mon., April 3  9 a.m.-6 p.m.
 

ENTRY FEE: $20 up to 3 pieces  (to be paid via the Call for Art).
